EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provides peer recovery coach support service to individuals with an identified substance use disorder (SUD);Peer recovery support services will include but are not limited to; re-entry resources, psycho-education on the benefits of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), wellness planning, pro-social activities, on-on-one and group coaching, and resources to local community agencies and behavioral health providers;Coordinates with facilities the delivery of peer support services with facility management and behavioral health supervisors;Coordinates continuity of care;Facilitates communication to ensure that peers providing peer support services receive clear accurate and congruent information;Maintains a database to track peer-to peer supervision and work/volunteer hours for peers providing peer recovery support services;Provides training on approved peer led curriculums and new peer training with approval from Chief of Community Behavioral Health and Peer Services and/or designee;Submits COPA certification packet to include but not limited to; training certificates, peer-to-peer supervision documentation, and work/volunteer work hours to the DOC Education program for submittal to COPA for peer certification;Coordinates specialized training with behavioral health supervisors for peer specialist who are providing peer support services to inmates who are in a specialized behavioral health program;Works under supervision of a licensed mental health clinician and with professional standards, ethics and guidelines.
