Shift Work: Day, evening, and night shifts to include holiday & weekends as needed
**Please note: Shifts will vary based on the needs of the department.**
The purpose of the work unit is to provide a safe, clean, and sanitary facility that is well-maintained and comfortable for the residents who reside here. This work unit also exists to assist in compliance with all required Federal, State, and local rules and regulations about the operation of a healthcare facility.
The purpose of this position is to provide the hands-on service of cleaning, and disinfecting and to assist in the overall process of controlling odors that are prevalent in a healthcare facility. This position also restocks cleaning supplies as needed and performs all floor maintenance as required.
DUTIES:
Cleaning
- Sweeps and mops floors, dusts all horizontal surfaces, removes trash throughout the facility, cleans and sanitizes all restroom fixtures, completes work orders as needed, stocks toilet paper and paper towels, and fills soap dispensers.
- Strip linen from all beds and disinfect bedframes.
- Clean and dust room light fixtures, bathroom light fixtures, and hallway lighting.
- Clean and disinfect all furniture.
- Clean handrails and door hardware.
- Clean and dust door frames, stairwells, and fire extinguisher cabinets.
- Clean windows inside and out.
- De-scale pipes and fixtures, buff floors.
- Know and follow Universal Precautions and all established Facility safety standards.
Laundry- Handle, sort, load, unload, fold, assign, hang, iron, stock, label, and distribute Resident’s laundry and Facility linen, etc.
- Utilize approved disinfectants, cleaners, detergents, bleaching agents, soft/sour agents, spotters, and associated chemicals.
- Know and follow Universal Precautions as well as the programming of all Laundry Equipment. Keep work-related records.
- Follow all established facility safety standards.
