This serves as the Program Manager for the STI Control admin/grants team in the Office of Rapid Response Disease Investigation (ORRDI) in the Division of Preparedness.
The employee in this position will:
- Serve as a resource for all supervisory/lead staff and supervision of direct reports.
- Be responsible for assisting with ORRDI office and BIDS bureau activities including but not limited to budget and strategic planning.
- Be expected to make independent decisions and judgments based on their professional education, programmatic experience and training.
- Oversee the work of direct reports for accuracy and compliance to applicable statutes, laws and rules.
- Subject matter expert for local health jurisdictions, public, other governmental agencies, community based organizations, and health care providers regarding communicable disease reporting requirements, clinical and treatment guidelines, and State statutes and rules.
- Coordinating with the ORRDI Epi Program Manager and the ORRDI Investigations Program Manager to ensure timely execution of key grant deliverables.
- Coordinating with ORRDI managers to craft programmatic budgets that support long term planning and infrastructure to execute key grant deliverables and STI response efforts.
- Providing guidance and technical assistance to various public, private, and nonprofit health and health-related state and local agencies and organizations;
- Participating in internal and external committees and workgroups related to areas of expertise;
- Participating in after-hours activities including partner meetings, investigations, outbreak and emergency responses, as needed; and
- Coordinating grant writing and other funding proposals. This position will serve as the Principal Investigator on 5 funding streams and the landscape of finance management will change overtime as grants end and new funding opportunities become available.
- This position maintains and shares information and data of a very confidential nature.
May provide administrative leadership and technical guidance to lower-level professional, technical, and administrative support staff, as assigned.
-Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of programmatic activities; budgeting activities; strategic planning and performance improvement initiatives; program policy, procedures and rules revision; participate in meetings with key stakeholders and professional organizations for program and systems performance evaluation; attend and represent office at local, regional, state and national meetings as needed.
-Serve as a resource to other supervisory/lead staff in the ORRDI office and BIDS bureau. Planning, administration and personnel management. Manage and direct subordinate staff (work assignments, setting priorities, hiring, discipline, provide training, approving leave requests, and preparing evaluations, etc.)
-Review, edit, and monitor STI program requirements; ensuring grant requirements and deliverables are met (including sub-recipient monitoring). Will ensure all forms and documents accurately completed within required time frames.
-Provide training and technical assistance to local and tribal health departments; serve as a resource for local health jurisdictions, public, other governmental agencies, community based organizations, and health care providers regarding communicable disease reporting requirements, clinical and treatment guidelines, and State statutes and rules.
-Participate in quality assurance/performance improvement activities.
-Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

Bachelors in public health or a science-related field with up to 2 years of relevant data analysis experience or a MPH/MSPH or masters in public health or a science-related field. Preference given to degrees from an accredited University and/or School of Public Health.
