Planner I/II/III position to join our Statewide Systems team and help us Keep Alaska Moving!

Base Salary for:
Planner 1 $27.67/Hourly
Planner 2 $31.83/Hourly
Planner 3 $2,751.00/Bi-weekly

The working environment you can expect:
This position will be in Juneau. In this location, there is a comfortable office environment, computer equipment, etc. Ample parking is provided as well as break time walking along the Gastineau Channel. Microsoft Teams is currently being utilized in lieu of many in-person meetings for peer-to-peer communications and staff meetings in a hybrid work environment.

The Project Delivery division’s Alaska Community Transportation team supports and advances public and community transportation service across Alaska through federal and state grant funding programs and opportunities, multi modal transportation planning, program management, training, and customer service. What you will be doing:
Planner I- Assist in the management of transit requirements and funding streams for grant programs administered through the Alaska Community Transit (ACT) Office; monitor projects, funding and completion of annual reports; assist higher level planner in transit planning and programming; become familiar with federal and state requirements in order to provide limited program technical assistance to grant applicants.
Planner II- Assist in managing transit administrative requirements and funding streams for public and human services transit grant programs administered through the State Transit Office (ACTO); monitor projects, funding and completion of annual reports; provide program technical assistance and training to grant applicants, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements.
Planner III- Manage transit administrative requirements and funding streams for public and human services transit grant programs administered through the State Transit Office (ACTO); monitor projects, funding and completion of annual reports; provide program technical assistance and training to grant applicants, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements. Lead team in preparing and scheduling activities for sub recipient monitoring and compliance.

  • Project Management: Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance.
  • Planning and Evaluating: Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
