What You Will Be Doing
This associate position learns to operate IT systems and provide the technology support to ensure department staff can conduct their work efficiently, securely, and in-line with department mission and objectives. This includes learning to administer all systems not already administered by subcontractors or the state Office of Information Technology (OIT). This work includes, but is not limited to, provision of user accounts, deployment of computers, printer and peripheral configuration, documentation, end-user support and training, and ensuring appropriate and secure access to file sharing, collaboration, and other department IT services. This position is a direct report to the department IT Services Manager.
This is a flexibly staffed position. If hired at the Technician 1 level, promotion to the Technician 2 level will occur upon completion of the probationary period, the training plan, and the candidate meeting the minimum qualifications for the Technician 2.

The Working Environment You Can Expect
This position is located in the State Office Building in downtown Juneau. Our space offers a relaxed setting with open offices and quiet workspaces to meet a variety of work needs. The office is within walking distance of multiple restaurants and coffee shops. Ample covered parking is available. Qualified employees have the option for teleworking and flexibility in scheduling after an initial training period.
