State North Carolina is Hiring a Data Analyst Near Mccullers, NC

Description of Work

This position provides analytical consultative services that will assist staff in planning and evaluating programs and services. This position is responsible to help maintain the efficient operation of the division's information reporting system; serve as an administrator for its systems, to develop specialized reports; to analyze data and reporting issues and to implement procedural solutions. This position is also responsible for initiating new short- and long-range planning projects to provide DSB leadership with a comprehensive view of operations, performance outcomes, alternative solutions, and the policy implications of decisions. The position also leads and participates in projects and serves as a technical and planning expert so that the division has fully developed and integrated performance management programs.

Job responsibilities include the following

  • Maintain the efficient operation of the division's information reporting system
  • Serve as an administrator for its systems, to develop specialized reports
  • Analyze data and reporting issues and to implement procedural solutions
  • Initiate new short- and long-range planning projects to provide DSB leadership with a comprehensive view of operations, performance outcomes, alternative solutions, and the policy implications of decisions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Proven ability in quantitative and qualitative data evaluation, analysis and presentation of data/analysis in various formats (narrative, graphical, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of database and system maintenance, personal computers, peripherals, applications, and related equipment

Management preference

  • Two years demonstrated work experience and proficiency in analytical research techniques including statistical analysis, empirical analysis, secondary data analysis, survey research, and other advanced qualitative and quantitative methods
  • One year work experience and proficiency in creating program performance outcome reports utilizing standard query and analysis tools and business applications

Bachelor s degree in psychology, sociology, or social work or a human service programmatic field, from an appropriately accredited institution;

or

Bachelor s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of program evaluation or consultative experience in human service programs;

or

an equivalent combination of education and experience.
