State Fair Community College is Hiring an Assistant Registrar Near Sedalia, MO

Position Purpose:The Assistant Registrar is responsible for all areas of evaluating transfer credit, preparing athletic eligibility reports, reviewing applications for graduation, as well as degree and enrollment verifications. The Assistant Registrar performs these functions independently and with professional discretion under the supervision of the Registrar. These functions are vital to the successful operation of the College and for student recruitment, retention, and success.

Essential Job Functions:

* Ensures the integrity, accuracy, and security of all academic records of current and former students.

* Interprets and enforces college, state, and federal academic policies and regulations.

* Maintains confidentiality per the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

* Serves as contact for telephone, walk-in, and email correspondence for student services questions.

* Evaluates the acceptability and determines course equivalency of transfer work from other institutions of higher education and other sources.

* Reviews and processes graduation applications.

* Processes and maintains records and reports for Missouri Reverse Transfer students, veterans' affairs, and WIOA.

* Prepares and maintains timely athletic eligibility reporting.

* Administers degree verify, enrollment verification, and transcript request processes.

* Processes name changes, death notices, date of birth information, and social security number reconciliations.

* Assists co-workers with duties during peak periods.

* Other duties as deemed necessary for the function of the College and the department.

Required Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

* Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred

* Two years' experience in records management

Skills:

* Attention to detail combined with an emphasis on quality, strong computer skills/aptitude in Microsoft Office

* Ability to keep and maintain accurate records, work independently with minimal supervision, meet and exceed productivity standards, maintain confidentiality, and follow FERPA guidelines

* A willingness to take on additional responsibility and work collaboratively

* Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

* Work involves sedentary to light work in an office setting.

* There is frequent sitting, with walking, standing, and stooping occasionally required.

* There is an occasional need to lift objects (up to 10 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.

* Educational Advancement - Faculty can apply to move up a level on the salary schedule or staff can apply for an additional $1,000 to their salary upon completion of an additional degree.

Employment will require a criminal background check at College Expense. Preference is given to Missouri residents.
