One (1) year of experience performing at least one of the following tasks: reconciling accounts, calculating payments, collecting, and analyzing statistics and information, or explaining policy or benefit information to the public. Acceptable experience may include, but is not limited to, experience as law clerk/paralegal in a law firm or court, hospital/physician’s business office representative, health/dental/vision insurance carrier customer service representative. Note: retail cashier/salesclerk experience with the primary function of checking out customers at a register will NOT be considered as qualifying for this examination.
OR
An Associate’s degree or higher or 60 semester credit hours of college-level study.
OR
30 semester credit hours of college-level study and one year of the experience described above.
Telecommuting:
The Office of the New York State Comptroller (OSC) supports telecommuting where it is reasonable to do so based upon the agency’s mission and operational needs. Generally, employees new to OSC will be restricted from telecommuting for at least 8 calendar weeks. After the initial 8 calendar week restriction, if any employee’s duties and work performance are aligned with telecommuting they may be allowed to do so. Upon approval to telecommute, OSC employees may telecommute up to 5 days per pay period.
