TITTLE
Physical Therapist
DEFINITION
Under general supervision of the Program Director, the Physical Therapist provides quality early intervention services to children and carries out treatment for Physical Therapy patients in alignment with established goals.
DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO
Program Director
SUPERVISION OVER
Children and their families receiving services through Stars Therapy Services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform direct patient care, including evaluation of musculoskeletal, neurological and other physical problems.
Completes assessments and writes reports
Meets with parents and service providers to develop and implement an Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP) for each child and family served
Must be effective communicator and be dedicated to providing high-quality to care
Maintain accurate paperwork documentation and records of client files.
Demonstration of a family-centered philosophy, and respect for cultural diversity.
Provides direct educational information to caregivers regarding their childs development
Maintain agreed upon work schedule, be punctual, keep appointments, and use time effectively
Maintain professional certification/licensure as required
Attend required professional development opportunities and maintain knowledge of current research and effective approaches
Participate fully as a productive team member in planning and providing services to children and families.
Demonstrate strong communication skills with staff and their clients/parents
Knowledge of neurological and musculoskeletal diseases.
Knowledge of rehabilitative treatment techniques as utilized by the generalist in treating multiple age groups.
Knowledge of orthopedic manual therapy techniques.
Knowledge of the regulations and practice standards of Pediatric Physical Therapy.
Demonstrate computer literacy to be self-sufficient in:
Basic computer software such as: word, excel and powerpoint
Basic internet skills and appropriate internet practices
Writing, finding, saving and printing documents such as progress reports.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA compliance policies.
Complete administrative paperwork in a timely manner and by due date including, but not limited to:
monthly schedules;
calculate weekly and monthly visits
ABILITY TO
Speak and write effectively
Build strong partnerships with Stars staff, consumers and community service agencies
Prepare written reports
Ability to develop objectives
Use resources efficiently and wisely
Work flexible hours to meet program requirements
Willing to commute to various areas in the county
Communicate in English and Spanish preferred
Comply with both federal and state guidelines, including all licensing requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
B.A Degree in Physical Therapy is required
In-home and clinical setting physical therapy experience required; pediatric experience is preferred
A current California PT License
Professional Liability Insurance
Early Intervention Experience
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
California driver's license
Proof of car insurance in employee's name and current address
Must be CPR Certified (Adult, child, infant, AED) & First Aid
Must be willing to submit driver's license and fingerprints for background check
Must be able to submit verification of legal rights to work in the U.S. upon hire
