We’re hiring a Rapid Response Video Creator to join our Alexandria office!

The Job

Rapid response is the battlefield surgery of storytelling. In a nutshell: Something happens in the news and a client calls you and says, “We need a video about it tonight!” Client gives you a theme, and maybe a little direction, but not much else. It’s now your job to literally make something out of nothing... to pull a rabbit out of a hat... to find compelling footage and news clips and tell an interesting story with the right vibe. And you’ve got to do it all by tonight.

It’s now your job to pull a rabbit out of a hat... to make something out of nothing... to find compelling footage and news clips and tell an interesting story with the right vibe. And you've got to do it all in a few hours (1 day at most)!

And if that's not enough, your video better have high engagement or next time the client will call someone else. Talk about pressure!!!

Who We Need

We’re looking for experienced rapid response video creators. And if that's you, then you are what baseball guys call a "5 Tools Player" - you're good at storytelling, research, editing, motion graphics and sound design. And you can do them all on the fly (read: FAST). If the shiny stuff in your portfolio is from templates, presets, and stock animations, and not custom stuff made by you, this gig isn't for you. If you need a team to support you, this gig isn't for you.

Responsibilities

• Create rapid response videos and digital ads for our clients
• Make engaging videos on a topic from scratch, including research, finding footage/assets, etc.
• Collaborate with team members to regularly create awesome content on time and under budget
• Synthesize direction and client feedback into finished deliverables
• Keep abreast of current events for a specific client or political candidate

Required Skills

• “5 tools player” (see above)
• Editing, compositing, and mograph grandmaster. (Good sound design a plus.)
• Adobe Creative Suite (FOUR HORSEMEN: After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, and Audition)
• Track record for making video ads that perform
• You thrive in fast-paced environments and adapt well to change
• You can take direction (and criticism), but you can also execute at a high level without direction
• You have an awesome portfolio (Send link.)
