We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team to enhance our financial and operations strategy, ensuring we continue to maximize ROI and maintain financial health. The position reports directly to the President/CEO.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Develop, implement and maintain accounting procedures and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Manage the job costing process, tracking expenses and revenue associated with each marine refit project.
• Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to monitor project budgets, analyze variances, and provide insights to optimize profitability.
• Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis reports to support strategic decision-making.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and customer invoices.
• Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in accounting and operations management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong understanding of job costing principles and experience managing cost accounting processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., CDK Lightspeed highly preferred) and Microsoft Office applications, especially proficient in Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
• Solid understanding of operational processes and their impact on financial performance.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and multi-level staff.
• Experience in the marine industry or related field is a plus, but not required.
