Star Truck Rentals, Inc. is looking for a dependable, driven, and enthusiastic individual for our Rental Representative position in Comstock Park, MI.
A Star Truck Rentals Rental Representative is primarily involved in the sales/marketing of Star’s 900 light to heavy-duty rental units to our current and potential customers. Rental Representatives work very closely with their branch service team and the Lease Account Managers on fleet management to meet customer needs and to sell all of Star’s services. Rental Representatives are expected to be in frequent communication with Star’s 18 other branches.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee rental fleet.
  • Assist customers’ questions about the product line, price, availability, product use, and credit terms.
  • Responsible for generating rental sales leads and consulting with clients after sales contact to secure future sales.
  • Drive profitable revenue growth by maintaining and growing customer relationships.
  • Recommend products to customers based on the customer’s needs or type of business.
  • Develop leads through telephone solicitation and customer visits; follow through on new leads.
  • Estimate or quote prices on short-term rental equipment, credit or contract terms, and delivery dates.
  • Ensure complete customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
  • Timely and accurately bill all rental invoices for your branch; must be comfortable with math.
  • Accurately reconcile cash and credit rental transactions for your branch.
  • Responsible for being in compliance with company, local, state, federal, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Goal-oriented, driven for results, assertive, and ability to deal well with ambiguity.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, high level of energy.
  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, workgroups, customers, and supervisors at both the local level and at the corporate level).
  • Ability to maintain confidential information that customers share about their market or credit information given to process their bills.
  • Maintain composure when addressing stressful situations; resolve customer complaints by determining the cause; explain the best solution, timely expedite correction according to corporate policies.
  • Ability to make independent decisions, work well in a team environment, customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude are required.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Communication
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Team on fleet management; be aware of units out of service, follow up regularly on pending units, length/type of repairs on rental units, special needs for upcoming rental reservations, etc.
  • Deal comfortably with senior management.
  • Responsible for ensuring 2nd and 3rd shift employees are trained on the basics of rental and can get the customer back on the road.
  • Communicate effectively across all functions; both professional and timely through verbal and written communication is required.
Administrative
  • Professionally handle inbound and outbound calls from a multi-line phone system.
  • Manage multiple assignments and tasks at one time, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions and work assignments
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements described below are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • The associate must regularly be able to get in and out of small to large truck equipment. This includes but is not limited to climbing steps to sit in the driver and passenger seat, lifting roll doors on the back of cabs and trailers, bending down to view the truck from all angles, etc.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The associate will be required to visually inspect equipment in all weather conditions and inside shop bays when needed.
  • The associate is required to read a series of numbers in the exact order of placement to safely and adequately manage truck equipment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid Driver’s license required.
