Star Furniture is Hiring a Credit Analyst, Full-Time Near Houston, TX

Credit Analyst

The Credit Analyst works directly with Star Furniture’s customers to provide credit information and credit decisions in a positive and professional manner.

Reports To: Credit Manager

Essential Functions:

  • Makes credit decisions and establishes lines of credit based on the client’s application and information from the credit bureau reports.
  • Conducts additional credit investigations when necessary
  • Reviews all accounts that are countered/qualified
  • Reviews and sends all turned down / qualified letters and correspondence
  • Transfers applications from pending to processed in company software
  • Checks and responds to messages from Star personnel
  • Check and monitor Star computers that have credit answers
  • Run and evaluate manual credit reports for Human Resources
  • Pull invoices and applications for pre-approval printout
  • Investigate and bill business accounts
  • Helps in the training of new associates as needed
  • Troubleshoots services
  • Handles customer and store personnel via phone
  • Helps with alternative financing program
  • Filing and administrative work as needed

Requirements:

  • 1 year of credit/finance/collections experience
  • Capable of analyzing credit applications and making sound credit decisions
  • Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays on a regular basis
  • Knowledge of company sales system
  • Ability to communicate and write in English

Education & Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in an administrative support role
  • Excellent clerical and communication skills

Supervisory Responsibility: None. 

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, tablets, and other office equipment.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work: This is position and hours of work would routinely be 40 hours per week and requires working every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Given the nature of the position, there may be occasions that extra hours and travel may be required.
