Your Opportunity

The role of the Senior Environmental Engineer is to support our local environmental remediation team based out of Dallas, Texas. This position will support business growth, program/project management, team development, and provide technical support for remediation projects (e.g., soil, groundwater, sediment, air, etc.) across multiple industries. The position requires an independent individual with solid problem-solving and communication skills, and environmental remediation experience. Project management experience and professional licensure (e.g. PE, PG) are required.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of professionals to assist our clients on a wide variety of remediation and environmental opportunities and projects. It is anticipated these may include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead and assist with the pursuit, implementation, and management of brownfield, property redevelopment, and/or contaminant investigation and remediation projects
  • Prepare project deliverables including but not limited to Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, quarterly progress reports, sampling and analysis plans, site investigation reports, and remedial action plans in whole or in part, depending on the size and complexity of the document
  • Participate in workplan preparation including the development of conceptual site models
  • Lead and participate in proposal preparation (work scope, task-level budgeting, cost estimates), perform calculations, gather or review information, and prepare standard sections of proposals
  • Perform analysis and interpretation of environmental data
  • Coordinate subcontractors (such as analytical laboratories, private locators, and drillers)
  • Collaborate with and support interdisciplinary engineering design teams to develop and implement multi-discipline solutions for soil, groundwater, sediment, and vapor remediation projects, using in-situ and ex-situ technologies
  • Lead and participate in client relationship development, opportunity identification, positioning, project scoping, costing, proposal preparation, and client presentations
  • Develop and maintain a broad range of client relationships.
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities consistent with the vision and strategic plan.
  • Identify, attract, recruit, and mentor staff.
  • Establish work procedures/sequences and develop schedules, budgets, staffing requirements, and vendor/subcontractor lists
  • Plan, design, and manage/execute fieldwork for environmental projects (e.g., sampling of soil, sediment, and groundwater, quality assurance, and perimeter air monitoring for remedial construction, etc.)

  • Periodic travel/field work may be required for leading field crews, performing environmental monitoring, or off-site meetings with clients and/or regulatory agencies

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet strict project deadlines.
  • Ability to travel regionally and locally as required for proposal and project needs (up to 50%).
  • Valid US driver’s license and good driving record.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering

Professional Engineering (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) License

40-Hr HAZWOPER training preferred

Experience with construction oversight, remediation system operation, and maintenance activities is a plus, but not required

Minimum of 15 years of experience in Texas; additional experience preferred

Experience with or directly managing environmental projects is desired

The position will primarily work in an office setting but will require travel to client locations/offices, fieldwork, and field site visits. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Extended hours and schedules may be necessary to fit project demands.
