Your Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the growth of the office and region through technical expertise and team mentorship, project management, and/or client management.
  • Supports project teams, and coordinates with other disciplines, in development of design documentation, plans, and reports for relevant project design elements.
  • Assists in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Utilizes technologies in development of three-dimensional models of civil systems.
  • Reviews shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.
  • Develops job specific discipline specifications.
  • Evaluates and selects civil systems and materials.
  • Attends project coordination meetings.
  • Participates in value engineering, project cost estimating, and implementation of sustainable design principles.
  • Provides client service, development, management, opportunity pursuits and business growth.
  • Executes and manages complex civil engineering designs and multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience representing private sector and/or municipal clients and projects.
  • Experience leading a team of professionals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD, as well as relevant software programs which may include Civil3D, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, and PondPack.
  • Experience in design functions, such as site planning, roads, drainage, grading, water systems, sanitary sewer systems and other municipal and private sector infrastructure.
  • Experience in project management functions; contract administration, bidding regulations, and quality assessments.
  • Knowledge of civil systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Understanding of all phases of engineering document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
  • Create, suggest, and introduce innovative and effective client solutions and integrated deliverables that are aligned with business objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record required

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer license strongly preferred; ability to obtain within a year.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in land development, site civil projects or municipal/township engineering.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
