The?Food Services Department is a talented team of culinary and food service professionals devoted to offering patients, visitors, and staff a premium dining experience through locally sourced sustainable food to support healing and wellness. Our Food as Medicine philosophy brings awareness to the critical link between eating healthy and living well.

The Food Service Equipment Technician is tasked with ensuring the functionality of food service equipment across various units, including Retail, Production, Patient Dining, Event Services, and Stanford Dining Room. In this role, you will proficiently troubleshoot, diagnose, perform minor repairs, and conduct preventative maintenance on a range of Commercial Kitchen Equipment. This includes equipment used in cooking, refrigeration, dishwashing, and other specialized food service areas. As the designated Point of Contact (POC) for the department, you will liaise with Field Facilities Services (FFS), Facilities Management (FM), and other support departments to expedite the prompt repair of equipment, ensuring seamless operations.

This full-time position requires you to be on-site, with a regular schedule of 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. There will be variations to your schedule based on the operational demands of the hospital.

Experience Qualifications

* 2 years of technical experience with refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment

* Proficient with computers, MS Office, and other programs

A Brief Overview

The Utility Worker performs basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and other general work in connection with the maintenance and repair of building equipment and systems. Nature of work involves physical effort and dexterity in the use of appropriate tools. The utility worker is assigned to take direction and assist tradesperson, for the duration of an assignment. May be assigned to perform tasks requiring less expertise independently.

What you will do

* Assists in the installation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and other building equipment and systems.

* Assists in the installation and maintenance of building utility systems.

* Maintain parts and equipment inventory.

* Repair of building interiors such as doors, walls, and furnishings.

* Performs tasks requiring less expertise independently involving inspection, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems.

* Basic understanding of mechanical, architectural, and plumbing blueprints and basic electrical schematics. Responds to all service calls.

* Responsible for keeping records, timecards, work requests, material slips, logbook entries, charts, and record sheets accurate, legible and turned in to supervisor in a timely manner.

* Handles hazardous materials and associated waste including replacing batteries in faucets and replacing burned out fluorescent lamps.

Education Qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED equivalent

* Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

* Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area

* Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility

* Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance and repair

Licenses and Certifications

* CADL - California Drivers License - Valid And In State .

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $36.57 - $41.18 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
