Safety Coordinator/Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all employees follow federal, state, local, corporate, and industry safety standards.
  • Maintain health and safety policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Inspect job sites for compliance with safety regulations.
  • Ensure all job sites have proper PPE for the tasks at hand.
  • Coordinate with project managers and supervision on the safety needs of jobs.
  • Create, manage, and maintain site specific safety programs.
  • Attend various job meetings as a company safety representative.
  • Interact with customer safety personnel.
  • Carry out accident investigations and near miss reports.
  • Attend potential legal meetings that arise from incidents such as BWC meetings or legal proceedings.
  • Maintain company safety records.
  • Mange company safety training program. This includes maintaining safety training records, arranging new and refresher safety training, and arranging client specific training.
  • Maintain items related to third party safety services such as ISN or Avetta.
  • Attend various industry safety events.
  • All other assigned duties.

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in construction safety.
  • OSHA 30. OSHA 500 a plus.
  • CHST or equivalent a plus.
  • CPR First Aid Trainer preferred.
  • Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal safety laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of CFR 1926 Standards.
  • Proficient knowledge of computers and software such as Microsoft Office.
  • Valid drivers license with clean record.
  • Pass 10 panel drug test.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations while maintaining professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain good relations with field personnel while still enforcing safety rules.
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight.

Position Answers To:

  • Vice President – All Tasks

Position: Full Time, Salaried.

Education: Bachelor Degree in Safety/Industrial Hygiene or a combination of technical training and experience in the field.

Schedule: M-F

Work Location: Brook Park, OH, Various field locations as needed (Approximately 75 mile radius).
