Job Details

STAND 8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States with offices in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta and more, including internationally in Mexico, India and Japan.
We are seeking an experienced Jira Architect to join our team to support our global financial client transition their Jira platform become a product centric instance, which will be restructured to allow for all initiatives to be aligned to a product and line of business. Epics, user stories, and all efforts will be aligned to the teams and respective products. You will be able to report and map all your development, efforts, and accomplishments via a product line. And we'll be able to align our initiatives and stories on where the product is currently and where it's going to go. Our Architect will design the solution to facilitate all the efforts around a Product / Project focus. Jira is our heart and soul of work items management, and we will support our client build the functionality to support their vision with best practices around Jira, scaled agile SAFe methodology, reporting, integrations, security, and product vision. The instance is on Jira cloud, supports thousands of users, and will have additional add-ins integrated within it that support and connect to multiple departments across the enterprise. We will also need to architect integrations with additional Atlassian products and solutions (Confluence, Atlassian Reporting, Jira Service Manager, etc.).
You will be able to translate a product vision into a workable solution that will support multiple business users, product managers, and stakeholders to action the roadmap to workable delivery items. You will play a key role in getting Jira to meet the needs of the evolving business to help them accelerate innovation and track results across the company. Responsibilities

  • Design and Configuration: Architect and meticulously configure Jira to align with our unique organizational needs. This includes custom workflows, issue types, and project structures. Optimize system performance, ensuring seamless interactions with Jira.
  • Integration Mastery: Collaborate across cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate Jira with other tools (Confluence, Jira Service Manager, etc.). Leverage REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party add-ons.
  • User Empowerment: Define roles, permissions, and access controls within Jira. Ensure a harmonious user experience. Manage user provisioning and authentication.
  • Scale for Impact: Manage large-scale Jira instances (10,000 users). Fine-tune performance and scalability. Create an ecosystem where Jira thrives.
  • Customization and Efficiency: Craft custom fields, screens, and dashboards tailored to our teams' needs. Automate repetitive tasks, freeing minds for creativity.
  • Security Sentinel: Implement robust security practices-encryption, access controls, and compliance. Safeguard our digital citadel.
  • Add-ons and Beyond: Explore Jira's marketplace. Recommend and implement add-ons that enhance functionality. Stay informed about marketplace trends.
  • Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor system health. Diagnose bottlenecks. Collaborate with support teams.
  • Migration and Upgrades: Plan and execute Jira migrations (cloud to cloud, server to cloud). Keep pace with Jira version updates.
  • Documentation and Training: Document architectural decisions, configurations, and processes. Provide training to end-users and administrators.

Required Skills

  • Jira Expertise: Proficiency in Jira administration, configuration, and customization. Deep understanding of Jira workflows, schemes, and permissions.
  • Integration Know-How: Experience integrating Jira with other tools (Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.). Familiarity with REST APIs and webhooks.
  • Scalability and Performance Optimization: Proven track record in managing large-scale Jira instances. Ability to fine-tune performance parameters.
  • Security and Compliance: Knowledge of security practices, encryption, and access controls. Understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Automation Skills: Scripting proficiency for automation. Familiarity with Jira automation rules.
  • Marketplace Awareness: Experience with popular Jira add-ons. Stay attuned to marketplace developments.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Analytical mindset to diagnose and resolve complex issues. Collaborate effectively with support teams.
  • Migration and Upgrade Experience: Successful execution of Jira migrations and upgrades. Knowledge of migration tools and strategies.
  • Documentation and Communication: Strong documentation skills. Ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
  • Continuous Learning: Eagerness to stay updated on Jira advancements and best practices.

Additional Details

The base range for this contract position is $50 - $80/per hour, depending on experience.

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
