Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Family Law Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment. The Family Law Legal Assistant will work closely with attorneys to support the legal needs of our clients.
Responsibilities:
  1. Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing and organizing case files, ensuring all relevant documents are prepared and maintained accurately.
  2. Client Communication: Communicate with clients to gather necessary information, provide updates on case progress, and address inquiries in a professional and empathetic manner.
  3. Legal Research: Conduct legal research on case-specific issues and assist in the preparation of legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery.
  4. Court Filings: Prepare and file legal documents with the appropriate courts, ensuring compliance with all deadlines and procedural requirements.
  5. Calendar Management: Manage attorney calendars, schedule appointments, court appearances, and deadlines.
  6. Billing and Timekeeping: Assist in preparing client invoices and maintaining accurate records of billable hours and expenses.
  7. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, drafting correspondence, and maintaining office organization.
Qualifications:
  1. Education: High School Degree
  2. Experience: Minimum of3-5 years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in family law.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficient in legal research, case management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant legal tools.
  4. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  5. Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage a high-volume caseload.
  6. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and other support staff.
Benefits : 10 paid holidays, and your birthday off, 2 weeks personal time, 401k, profit share, and health insurance (we pay 50% of employee cost, but we gauge compensation based on the health insurance cost – or lack thereof
