Title: Sourcing Project Manager

Type of Hire: Contract – 1 year

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Must Haves:

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations or equivalent experience. Advanced formal education is desirable in business or a technical discipline.

· Minimum 5 years of supply chain, manufacturing engineering, project management or operations management experience.

· CPIM, CPSM, or PMP similar certification a plus.

· Lean / Six Sigma certification desirable

Job Description:

Objective of position:

The Sourcing Project Manager position is responsible for supporting and/or leading projects related to Productivity, Supply Chain Development, and Enterprise Initiatives, with varying levels of complexity. Activities could include, but are not limited to, supplier transfers, exits, part transfers, localization projects, sourcing reviews, RFQ / RFP, supply risk management, and other types of productivity projects. Significant engagement with both suppliers and other groups outside Sourcing may be required. A Sourcing Project Manager must work well independently, with teams, and may lead or support complex cross-functional processes or supplier performance improvement projects.

Key responsibilities:

1. Lead project teams in support of complex, and often critical, cross functional sourcing and supply chain strategies and related business initiatives.

2. Achieve operational objectives by developing timely integrated project plans and schedules while creating and driving action plans in accordance with business objectives and target completion dates.

3. Manage assigned projects to ensure optimum supply chain performance, both domestically and globally, including their associated alignments with company-wide commodity and manufacturing strategies and preferred sourcing models.

4. Lead Supply Chain projects in support of the transfer of products between manufacturing facilities, ensuring continued supply chain integrity.

5. Lead large and/or complex projects that support Strategic Sourcing reviews, supplier localization, supplier exit and transitions between suppliers.

6. Achieve all project goals and objectives on time and able to anticipate issues or challenges and successfully implement solutions to realize project goals. Consistently moving problems towards resolution when encountering obstacles, uncertain conditions, or situations where lack of data or conflicting data means there is no clear choice.

7. Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships at all levels of Rockwell Automation and supplier organizations.

8. Identify and mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement throughout the supply chain for assigned projects and activities.

9. Drive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reduction, and work to identify incremental productivity in projects, to achieve the maximum benefit for Rockwell Automation.

10. Work closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Finance, and Engineering in support of technology and/or manufacturing strategies.

11. Independently make decisions and drive execution of correct supply chain solutions in the face of opposition.

12. Recommend, and potentially support or lead the development of, Project Management and other supply chain related improvements through the elimination of variation and waste, focusing on continuous process improvement while serving as a coach and mentor to others.

13. Develop, Interface and maintain effective working relationships with; Development Engineering, Industrialization Engineering, Component Engineering, Business Unit Management, Supply Management, Operations Management, Industrialization Planning, Supplier Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Finance.

14. Effective presentations and communications (written and verbal) to various levels of the Supply Chain organization.

Education and Experience:

Competency Requirements:

1. Exceptionally strong organizational and communication skills.

2. Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects / assignments requiring identification of objectives, resources and/or approaches.

3. Comprehensive understanding of primary sourcing, procurement, MRP, inventory, logistics and production principles and understands the basic data flow process in SAP.

4. Demonstrated analytical skills and an understanding of purchased product and cost drivers, such as raw materials or global market influences.

5. Ability to successfully manage multiple projects at the same time.

6. High energy, driven and enthusiastic about opportunities for in-depth sourcing strategy execution.

7. Comfortable/proficient in leading cross functional and multi-cultural teams.

8. Demonstrated ability to attain results and influence others outside their direct control or area and collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with internal and external resources.

9. Proven ability to provide clear and concise written and verbal communications as needed.

10. Excellent problem solving and project management skills complemented by effective negotiation skills and the demonstrated ability to resolve conflict.

11. Advanced understanding and use of information management applications (i.e. MS Office)

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
