Electrical System Engineer

As an Electrical System Engineer, you will be a viable member of a team focused on building high-quality, state-of-the-art passenger trains. Electrical Engineering Focus
System integration: specify and integrate subcontractor systems electrically and functionally, such as entry systems, HVAC systems, fire protection systems and lighting systems
Power supply: Design of power distribution and supply of all on-board power systems from the power converter, such as the on-board power system, battery power system and control power system
Vehicle control: Control and operation of the vehicle and design of functions and systems, such as basic functions, safety functions, assistance systems, driving data recording system, control technology, train protection and train bus
Key Activities
Design of electrical components and specification of systems, functions and associated interfaces in compliance with project requirements
Integration of assigned electrical equipment and systems into rail vehicles and responsibility for their proper functioning in the vehicle
Preparation of engineering documentation, such as concepts, specifications, electrical schematic templates, software requirements, type test specifications and verification documents
Verification and validation of systems through final approval
Provide technical support of type tests and troubleshooting
Technical clarifications and cooperation with internal and external project partners (customers and suppliers) in an international environment
Development and optimization of systems in interdisciplinary teams in compliance with customer specifications, standards and internal requirements
Technical support for the preparation of offers and tenders
Qualifications
BS or MS in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering
0 - 2 years (level one) or 3 - 5 years (level two) of relevant experience in railway, defense, aerospace or similar
Excellent communication and technical writing skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong teamwork skills
Business fluent in English (German is a plus)
Experience with schematic software, MS Office, PLM and ECN systems (e.g. E3, SmarTeam)
Willingness to travel for training, supplier visits and testing on vehicles
