Stacy and Witbeck, Inc. is Hiring a High-Speed Rail--Subject Matter Expert Near All States, CA

Stacy Witbeck is seeking a High-Speed Rail Subject Matter Expert (SME) to work collaboratively with a talented, cross-functional team focused on delivering high-speed rail in the United States. The High-Speed Rail Subject Matter Expert will play a pivotal role in providing technical expertise, strategic guidance, and leadership in the planning, design, construction, and operation of high-speed rail projects in the United States. The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of high-speed rail systems, technologies, regulations, and best practices, contributing to the successful execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide expert guidance on all aspects of high-speed rail systems, including design and construction of track, overhead catenary systems, traction power, and signaling.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that optimize the cost, constructability, operability, and maintainability of high-speed rail systems.

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Contribute to the development of project plans, timelines, and budgets for high-speed rail initiatives.
  • Lead technical working groups focused on defining scope elements, interfaces, and identifying innovations.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of project execution, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of national and international regulations related to high-speed rail, advising the organization on compliance matters.
  • Work closely with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals and ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, engineering firms, and contractors, to foster positive relationships and align project objectives.

Research and Development:

  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in high-speed rail technology and contribute to research initiatives aimed at improving the performance and sustainability of rail systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering/construction management or other field relevant to HSR
  • 15 years of experience in design and/or construction with 7 years of experience specific to high-speed rail preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of high-speed rail systems, technologies, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent organizational management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with American and European standards for railway engineering, systems engineering and other relevant disciplines, including ISO/IEC/IEEE and EN European Standards,
  • The technical expertise to evaluate means and methods of construction for track, OCS, and other high-speed rail elements based on cost, schedule, operability, maintainability, and other priorities
  • Understanding of level of effort, equipment and resources required to utilize different means and methods of construction for track, OCS and other high-speed rail elements
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
