The Child Development Center at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish seeks two exceptional candidates to fill the role of Preschool Teacher at our daycare center. The ideal candidate will enjoy interacting with children as they play and learn. We are urgently hiring for this position.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

Supervise children in your care at ALL times-ensuring health and safety.

Interact with children and encourage their involvement in activities while relating to them with courtesy, respect, patience, and acceptance.

Prepare a warm and safe environment that is orderly, clean, sanitary, and appealing, while permitting the child to grow and explore.

Maintain good communication with parents through the Brightwheel daycare app and face-to-face encounters during drop-off and pick-up.

Perform tasks such as taking out the trash, washing dishes/bibs, performing minor cleaning and preparation of snacks.
Assist with or perform lesson planning duties including activity/craft planning.
Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined by the Child Development Center, the Diocese of Austin, Health and Human Services (Licensing), and the Health Department to assure compliance for state certification and accreditation.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED

Able to work an 8-hour schedule between the hours of 7:00am-6:00pm

Complete a minimum of 24 hours of required training each year (provided by center)

At least 6 months' experience in a licensed childcare facility or school setting OR be willing to obtain 8 hours of pre-service training

Clear FBI fingerprinting and background checks

Obtain CPR/First Aid Training

Complete Ethics & Integrity in Ministry (EIM) training
