Job Title: Kitchen Expeditor (Expo) - Intermediate
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Expeditor (Expo) to join our team. The Expo is responsible for expediting orders from the kitchen to the wait staff in a timely and organized manner. The Expo must be able to multi-task, work quickly and efficiently, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that orders are prepared according to restaurant standards and in a timely manner.
• Know the menu and ensure foods served have been prepared and presented according to specs.
• Organize the tickets to process orders quickly - assisting the kitchen staff in prioritizing outgoing meals, ensuring no orders are lost, forgotten, or delayed.
• Monitor the kitchen to ensure that orders are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain quality control by ensuring the temperature of the food is perfect and all food safety regulations have been followed (first in/first out for products, etc.)
• Communicate with wait staff to ensure that orders are delivered quickly and accurately.
• Ensure that the kitchen is kept clean and organized.
• Maintain an organized and efficient work station - condiments, to-go wares and basic food prep.
• Assist with food preparation and other kitchen duties as needed.
• May assist in setting trays, plating food, or adding final garnishes or condiments.
• May assist in delivering plates to tables, ensuring all necessary items are delievered with each meal.
• Ensure that all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed.
• Monitor the kitchen for any problems or issues that may arise.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.
• Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Assist with closing duties as needed.
• Must have a current, valid, Florida SafeStaff or equivalent certification.

Qualifications:

• Must have at least 2 years of experience in a high-volume, first-class hotel/resort, Club, or restaurant.
• Must be able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
• Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Must be able to take direction and work well with others.
• Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 100 pounds.
