St. Mary's/Clearwater Valley Hospital and Clinics is Hiring a Patient Access Supervisor Near Cottonwood, ID

Responsible for direct supervision of staff and daily operations, including registration and hospital admissions, point of service collections, patient flow from registration intake, and customer service. Supports the department manager in quality improvement efforts, and to achieve required performance metrics. Performs in compliance to organizational policy, and state and federal regulations. Provides direct staff support and training, including implementation of policies and workflows. Ensures shift coverage, including taking calls from staff after hours. Assists in daily problem solving. Assists management in the development of policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Direct supervision of Patient Access staff across all hospital and clinic locations.
  • Responsible for 24/7 coverage of all shifts and locations in the department. Prepares weekly staffing schedules.
  • Provides training, coaching and support as part of employee development requirements.
  • Generates and monitors system reporting and manual tracking of individual staff and department outcomes to assure registration quality, productivity, and point of service collections metrics are achieved and maintained.
  • Supports clinical operations and patient care through supervision of scheduling, insurance verification, and appointment confirmation activities.
  • Through direct supervision and support, meets compliance and clean claim requirements; including obtaining patient signatures on required admissions forms, appropriate completion of Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaires, following HIPAA and EMTALA regulations, supporting The Idaho Patient Act and the federal No Surprises Act, and assuring that complete and accurate patient demographic and insurance information is collected.
  • Assures customer service quality standards are met through oversight of staff performing telephone and front office interactions with patients.
  • Regular reporting of department status, including staffing, performance metrics, and operational updates to Department Manager.
  • Participates in employee recruitment and onboarding activities.
  • Completes mandatory training requirements.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Patient Access field.
  • Travel between hospital and clinic locations is a requirement – expectation to be determined by manager.
  • Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned.
  • Shifts are a majority of sitting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree, preferred; relevant experience may be used in lieu of degree.
  • 3 years patient registration experience required.
  • Meditech and/or Epic experience preferred.
  • Ability to fluctuate work schedule to ensure coverage of 24/7 department. Primarily Monday-Friday, with some weekend coverage required.
