The teacher will work with other teachers as a team in this room. They will manage a room with 8 children ages 10 months - 2 yrs. The school is open from 9:30 - 2:30pm. We follow the EPS school calendar, so it is a perfect job for a person whose child is in school.

*Supervises and trains assistants

*Provides assistant with opportunities for input and evaluation of the program

*Sets up and maintains appropriate, nurturing classroom/child care environment

*Keeps written plan of daily class activities

*Keeps current developmental records of children in class

*Attempts to meet needs of each child

*Originates correspondence with families

*Reports to parents about children’s progress

*Is aware of and complies with personnel policies adopted by board

*Attends staff meetings and functions of the MDO

*Participates in professional and spiritual growth activities

• High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
• A strong understanding of child development.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.(will provide training if needed)
• Must clear full background and fingerprint check.
• Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
• Taking care of the child's needs in diapering and potty.
• Prepare room and child for nap time.
• A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
