St. Mark Lutheran Church seeks a part-time Music Accompanist beginning immediately.

Commitment and Compensation

The Accompanist will actively serve on Sunday mornings from approximately 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Additional time for preparation and practice is at the individual’s discretion so long as quality of performance is assured. Compensation is $200 per Sunday. Occasional Seasonal midweek services (for example, when Christmas falls on a weekday) will be compensated at the same rate.

Duties of the position include:

· Present live music on piano and organ at our regular 10:15 am Sunday service and occasional Seasonal midweek services.

· Accompany the choir (about 15 people) on the anthem and the cantor on the Psalm and on any special solos that might be offered. (Another individual will direct the choir.)

Qualifications:

· A degree in music education, music performance or equivalent experience.

· Ability to play the organ and piano with a preference for both.

· Enthusiastic with good verbal and written communication skills.

Reporting Responsibilities

The Musician will be supervised by the Pastor and will confer with the Pastor on the choice of music. All employment decisions are made by the Executive Committee. Evaluations will be conducted by the Pastor and the Executive Committee.
