St. Louise School is in search of a vibrant Spanish teacher for grades 6th-8th for the upcoming academic year 2024-2025. The ideal candidate should possess a dynamic approach to teaching and be enthusiastic about exploring innovative teaching methodologies to engage students in the process of learning a language.
Ability and Skills Desired
1.
Experience in teaching middle or high school students is preferred.
2.
Commits to the mission and values of St. Louise School.
3.
Has an endorsement and/or experience in teaching Spanish is preferred.
4.
Understands and is proficient in teaching the Spanish Language as a native speaker.
Responsibilities Include:
1. Implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and
encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
2. Coordination of teaching materials with the standards of OSPI and national standards for
World Languages to meet the 5 C’s in World Language (communication, cultures,
connections, comparisons, and communities).
3. Instructs reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in Spanish.
4. Organizes yearly event to showcase Spanish language skills.
5. Preparation of students and proctoring for AVANT4 Stamp Testing for Spanish for Competency Credits which could be applied towards the bilingual seal, being offered in the
state of Washington to reward, and encourage bilingualism.
6. Prepares students for future academics in World Languages.
7. Writes recommendations for graduating 8th-grade students, as needed for High Schools.
8. Design and implement a comprehensive and engaging Spanish language curriculum aligned with Archdiocesan and state standards.
9. Deliver effective and dynamic instruction to middle school students, fostering a
positive and inclusive learning environment.
Salary:
The range for this position is $58,666-$99,628. This position is a (0.5 FTE). Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
