What we do : We assist customers in an unlimited capacity including remodels, whole house lighting, custom art lighting design, retail and corporate layouts; you name it we do it! We train all of our employees and get them ALA (American Lighting Association) certified, have multiple training and events each year to ensure we stay on top of what is new, fresh and current in the industry; all while sticking to our motto of delivering Ultimate Customer Service to every individual who chooses to interact with Metro Lighting. In this role you will: Sell associated products at the showroom. Place new merchandise on display. Assist in promotions and advertisements. Receive, hang, remove, pack, and ship products. Read catalog or computer for replacement part stock number and price. Advise customer on substitution or modification of part when part is not available. Fill customer orders from stock. Prepare sales slip and receives payment. Mark and store parts in stockroom or area according to prearranged system. May take inventory of stock. Keep showroom neat and orderly. What you bring to the table : Someone who is comfortable meeting people, helping fulfill their needs in any capacity needed. Sales experience is desired but not required. We want someone who has a passion for what they do and sees their work as an opportunity, not a job. Some of the skillsets we find valuable are listed below: Extremely outgoing and social personality A self-motivator High attention to detail Desire to problem solve Reliable and punctual Creative minded Strong customer service skills Experience in the lighting industry is a plus, but not required Education: High school or equivalent preferred Work shift and hours: This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt retail sales position. You must be available to work all shifts (Monday - Sunday, with some evenings). You will work 40 hours/week. You will have one weekend off per month. Store hours: Monday & Friday 9a-6p, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 9a-7p, Saturday 9a-4p, Sunday 12p-4p Compensation Details: The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $16.00 per hour depending on experience.
