What you'll do!

The dynamic abilities professional may work alone or jointly with other professionals to provide individual or group sessions in order to deliver meaningful program based activities. The dynamic abilities professional should utilize a variety of methods including therapeutic exercise, activities, sports, games, movement, music, dining groups and community outings to maximize the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of clients served.

Dynamic Abilities Professional Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• • Maintaining and preparing the treatment environments, as well as the transportation and preparation of the residents.
  • Provide assistance with ambulation/devices, aquatic programs, positioning programs, standing programs/devices, adaptive bike adjustment and more.
  • Conduct quarterly (90-Day) reviews of all residents to include a summary of progress during functional mobility program sessions.
  • Participates in quality improvement and provides input to the Clinical Director recommending areas of change.
  • Attends/participates in staff meetings and in-service training.
  • Provide in-service training and support for Unit Manager and DSP staff in positioning and handling clients, implementation of physical development goals, as well as orthotics and wheelchair management.
  • Maintaining required documentation of clients’ progress in individualized programs.
  • Prepares, coordinates, and implements a consistent schedule for clients on the Dynamic Abilities Professionals program.

Qualifications

1. Associates Degree in health sciences, education, or a related field, or
2. High School diploma with evidence of continued education in health sciences, education or a related field
3. Hands-on experience and training in the field of Physical Therapy or directly with the developmentally disabled population
