Direct Support Professional (DSP) Required Experience/Education

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience working with the adults with intellectual and physical disabilities preferred, not required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid PA Driver’s License for certain locations/shifts

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit 3-7 hours per day.
• Ability to stand 1-3 hours per day.
• Ability to walk 1-3 hours per day.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing 10-50 pounds.
• Ability to twist upper portion of body on frequent basis.
• Ability to squat, bend and kneel for periods of time.
• Operate the motor vehicle assigned to the site if applicable.

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates knowledge of, and implements each Individual’s ISP.
• Meets the physical and personal hygiene needs of each resident.
• Accompanies residents to various appointments as directed (e.g. audiologist, dental hygienist, physicians) and community outings.
• Completes all documentation and paperwork as required.
