Instrument Tech II - Central Sterilization

St. John's Hospital Camarillo

St. John's Hospital Camarillo is seeking a skilled and dedicated Instrument Technician II to join our team.

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot various instrumentation systems and equipment.
  • Perform calibration and testing of instruments to ensure accuracy and functionality.
  • Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on instrumentation devices.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions or defects in control systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to optimize system performance.
  • Document all maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications
  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Six to twelve months of related experience desired.
  • Holds a current certification from one of the following organizations:
    • 1) Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc.
    • 2) International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material.
  • To communicate effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • To acquire and practice thorough knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique when carrying out various functions in the Sterile Processing Department.
  • To participate in on-going inservices training and on the job training.
  • To follow exact procedures for every assignment.
  • To perform arithmetic computations in determining the amount of supplies needed issued and returned.
  • To work independently without close supervision.
  • Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. 

  • This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
