St. Johns County Clerk of Court and Comptroller is Hiring a Customer Care Clerk Near Saint Augustine, FL

JOB
The Customer Care Clerk position is part of the Master Clerk Program at the St. Johns Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. The starting salary is $15.02 an hour. This is increased to $17.16 an hour once a clerk is deputized. On-the-job training is provided by our highly qualified staff and most clerks are deputized within the first 90 days. There is an additional increase to $21.00 an hour once a clerk is certified. The certification process is completed within six to twelve months depending on the clerk’s duties. The Clerk of Court provides an excellent benefit package to include Health, Life, Dental, and Vision Insurance, Paid Holidays, Vacation Pay, Sick Pay, On-Site Gym, Tuition Reimbursement, and Florida Retirement System (FRS). Under the direction of the Director of Customer Engagement, this position provides customer service by monitoring and answering incoming phone calls as well as other miscellaneous and ancillary duties.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provides courteous and professional customer service by telephone, resolving complaints and problems, and responding to general inquiries. Assists the general public and provides standardized, detailed information regarding court cases as well as other functions of the Clerk of Court and County Comptroller’s office. Researches requests and provides detailed responses under authority delineated in statutes and rules. Manages large amounts of inbound calls promptly.Verifies the receipt of payments and filings. Assists with the scheduling of appointments for various clerk services. Accurately enters data into the case management system as required.Performs daily cashier duties as necessary. Performs all other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS The Director of Customer Engagement assigns work in terms of general instructions. GUIDELINES Guidelines include Florida statutes and office policies and procedures. These guidelines are generally clear and specific but may require some interpretation in application. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light objects.The work is performed in an office. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A high school diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by one (1) year of recent and relevant experience.Strong communication skills both oral and written.Detail-oriented, strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to communicate with the public and effectively address their needs in a courteous, tactful, and professional manner. Possess the ability to cope with customers in impromptu situations. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form and possess the ability to follow complex oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, other governmental agencies, and members of the general public. Ability to use a computer terminal to enter data quickly and accurately. Knowledge of a wide range of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures, office equipment, and terminology. Ability to work with confidential and/or sensitive data and comply with state and federal guidelines. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, while concentrating on repetitious or complex tasks.
