Description

St. John LaLande is seeking an energetic, positive and faith filled teacher aide for our preschool and kindgergarten classrooms. Experience in an early childhood setting is strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Always understand and uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• The aide position require that individuals care for the physical, social, and emotional needs of the young child while promoting and modeling the mission of the Catholic Church.
• The teacher aide will work with and under the direction of the lead teacher in preparing materials, directing activities, and caring for each individual preschooler while encouraging spiritual and mental growth to ensure proper development is taking place.
• Participate in and complete required training through professional development opportunities.
• Demonstrate professionalism, including confidentiality, when working with administration, staff, parents and children while promoting positive relationships and effectively communicating with others.
• Manage and set high behavior standards within the classroom and building.
• Must be physically able to perform the job of a teacher/caregiver of young children.
• Be an active member of a faith community and be a model of the teachings of Jesus

Requirements

• Experience in working with young children
• Candidates will be required to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.
