Description

St. John LaLande School in Blue Springs is seeking an energetic and creative Art teacher for K-8th grade. This is a part time position, but could be combined with other open positions in the school to be full time.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of duties as assigned by building administration
• Demonstrate professional responsibility in confidentiality, sound judgment, dress, enforcing diocesan and school policies and general behavior.
• Manage inappropriate behavior and set high behavior standards within the classroom and building
• Assess and monitor student progress
• Promote positive relationships and effective communication with all staff, parents, and students
• Prepare and implement effective lessons using the diocesan standards
• Be an active member of a faith community and be a model of the teaching of Jesus.
• Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school

Requirements

• A valid teaching certificate (preferred or willingness to obtain within 3 years)
• A Bachelor degree in education / Art
