Job Description: Guest Service (Cashier, Counter Service, Barista, Grill)

Position Overview:

Saint Honoré Bakery is seeking a motivated and customer service-oriented individual to join our team as a Guest Service staff member. This individual will be responsible for assisting customers, operating the cash register, serving food and beverages, preparing coffee, espresso, and tea drinks, as well as grilling activities when required. The ideal candidate will have a friendly demeanor, strong attention to detail, and a passion for providing exceptional service to our valued guests.

Responsibilities:

1. Cashier Duties:

- Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.

- Process cash, credit, or debit card transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.

- Ensure correct pricing and accurate billing for all orders.

- Maintain a clean and organized cash register area.

- Handle customer inquiries and provide necessary information about products, menu items, or bakery services.

2. Counter Service:

- Take customer orders for food or bakery items with precision and attention to detail.

- Offer suggestions to guests to help them select what they are looking for or to try something new.

- Arrange and present food items appealingly and maintain stocking levels.

- Package to-go orders efficiently and accurately.

3. Barista:

- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso beverages according to customer preferences.

- Ensure the quality and consistency of coffee drinks by following specified recipes and techniques.

- Maintain a clean and sanitized coffee bar, including equipment and utensils.

- Stock coffee and other related supplies as needed.

4. Grill:

- Ensure proper grilling techniques and food safety protocols are followed.

- Collaborate with other staff to ensure timely and accurate cooking of grill items.

- Maintain a clean and organized grill station and surrounding area.

Requirements:

- Proven experience in cash-handling or customer service roles is preferred.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and meeting customer needs.

- Proficient in operating cash registers and POS systems.

- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation.

- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as required.

- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to changing bakery procedures.
