Third grade Teacher

St. Francis School is looking for a Third Grade Teacher who will be responsible for independently instructing 15-16 students for the 24-25 school year.

Duties:

• Develop lesson plans that provide students with opportunities to observe, explore, question and express themselves in a nurturing environment.
• Connect materials and lessons to real world experiences, current events and social justice.
• Create an intentionally inclusive and anti racist classroom with the use of books, songs, guest speakers and more.
• Provide a variety of materials in the classroom and plan for hands on, sensory rich lessons.
• Be knowledgeable of individual differences and adopt a flexible teaching style to meet the needs of students at various levels.
• Evaluate the academic, social and developmental growth of students and maintain records.
• Identify student’s needs. Create, implement and record accommodations.
• Meet with parents on a regular basis to discuss their child’s progress.
• Communicate weekly with parents about class activities, school wide events and lesson plans.
• Teach and model positive interpersonal skills through stories, hands-on activities and repetition.
• Collaborate positively and frequently with other members of the third grade team and be open to new ideas and suggestions.
• Use the Nurtured Heart approach by providing clear directions and natural consequences, focusing on the desired positive behavior and not energizing negative behaviors.

Pay: $54,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
