Founded as a faith-based hospital in 1931 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word Dignity Health St. Bernardine Medical Center is a 342-bed acute care nonprofit hospital located in San Bernardino California.

Responsibilities
The Lead Security Officer assists with the functions of physical and personal security and safety measures of members, patients, staff, and visitors / guests.
Protects staff and property from theft or damage, or persons from hazards or interference, including the potential for violence in the workplace.
Primary functions include responding to emergency situations at the assigned healthcare facility. Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Dignity Health's Core Value and humankindness.
The employee shall support Dignity Health's strategic plans and the goals and direction of the quality improvement / process improvement activities.
Qualifications
notifies proper authorities and leadership emergency situations. Assists in the training of Security Officers and review of post orders.
In conjunction with leadership, acts to ensure adequate security coverage of all posts. Prepares daily DARs, and sends to the Dignity Health Security Director / Manager.
Proper handling of incidents detrimental to the security and safety of the facility, patients, and employees. Carries out specific tasks and duties as required and assigned.
Meets annual clinical / employee health screening requirements.
Completion of IAHSS Basic Training for Healthcare Security Officer within 90 days of hire. CPR training within 60 days of hire.
Workplace Violence training annually.
