Job Title: Dietary Aide
Reports to: Food Service Director
Job Status: Part-Time/Non-exempt
Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Position Summary:
The Dietary Aide will prepare food for childcare program and special events. The position will also maintain and clean workspace for all kitchen staff members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare food: breakfast & muffins, later lunches for café
- Prepare and disburse kids breakfast cart at 6:45am
- Prepare fruits, salads and lunch for clients, staff and children
- Follow cleaning procedures to ensure safe and sanitary conditions with the food services department
- Wash dished, pots and pans
- Prepare food for guests and special function food serve programs
- Attend meeting/ conferences to retain safe-serve certification
- Attend department meetings and all-staff meetings as requested
- Prep for next day
- Fill kids cart with spoons, paper plates, etc. for the next day
- Clean all hot boxes
- Get and bring back all kids carts, etc. for washing
- Perform daily cleaning task- deep cleaning when needed
- Maintain neat plate presentation and portion control when serving
- Assist with stocking food delivers
Education/Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of food service experience
- Serv-Safe certification is highly desirable
Skills/Abilities:
- Team worker
- Communications
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Knowledge of food service lines set-up and temperature requirements.
- Skill in cooking and preparing a variety of foods.
- Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.
