Saint Andrew's is seeking a vigilant and dependable Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our students, faculty, staff, and campus facilities. The Security Guard will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment through regular patrols, monitoring surveillance equipment, enforcing school policies, and responding to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of the school grounds to detect and deter any unauthorized activity or suspicious behavior. Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to security threats promptly. 
2. Access Control: Manage access to the school premises by verifying the identity of visitors, students, faculty, and staff. Enforce access control procedures and ensure that only authorized individuals enter restricted areas. 
3. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or security breaches. Take appropriate action to mitigate risks, evacuate areas if necessary, and notify emergency services as required. 
4. Incident Reporting: Document all security-related incidents, including disturbances, thefts, vandalism, and policy violations. If necessary, prepare accurate and detailed incident reports for review by school administrators and law enforcement. 
5. Crowd Control: Maintain order during school events, assemblies, and other gatherings by monitoring crowd behavior and intervening in disputes or disturbances. Ensure the safety of attendees and prevent disruptions to the event. 
6. Safety Procedures: Enforce safety protocols and procedures to minimize student, faculty, and visitor risks. Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify and address any safety hazards or maintenance issues. 
7. Collaboration: Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other staff members to develop and implement security strategies and protocols. Support and assist school personnel as needed to maintain a secure and orderly environment. 

Schedule: 

This is a full-time position with a weekly schedule Monday through Friday 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Flexibility in scheduling may be required to accommodate school events or emergencies. 

Compensation: 

Non-exempt; $25.00 an hour

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional security or law enforcement training is preferred. 
• Proven experience as a security guard, preferably in an educational or similar environment. 
• Knowledge of security procedures, protocols, and best practices. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations. 
• Physical fitness and ability to perform patrols and respond to emergencies as needed. 
• Valid security guard license or certification as required by state regulations. 
• CPR and first aid certification preferred. 
• Clean criminal record and background check.
