St. Agatha Catholic School in Southwest Miami-Dade, Florida is seeking an energetic, full-time Music Teacher to be responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive Music curriculum for the coming 2024-2025 school year. The candidate must be able to teach music to students, conduct the school choir, prepare for school liturgies, and support the school mission through music and song. The Music Teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

Teaching Schedule: 7:20 a.m. - 3:20 p.m., Monday- Friday

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Music or Music Education
• State of Florida Department of Education Teacher Certificate (Temporary or Professional) required
• Ability to provide music instruction to students from PK to 8th grades
• Excellent classroom management
• Excellent presentation skills including use of instructional technologies
• Ability to lead and provide musical instruction to the student choir
• Experience in choral conducting
• Proficiency in keyboard/piano instrument used in liturgical celebration and in voice/choral performance
• Knowledge of keyboard/piano technique, liturgical service-playing techniques, and group vocal techniques
• Familiarity with the vast repertoire of sacred music available today, both contemporary and treasured
• Must be a Roman Catholic in good standing with considerable knowledge and familiarity of the Roman Catholic liturgy and an ability to integrate the liturgy with musical skills
• Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred
• Excellent inter-personal skills to interact and collaborate with priests, administration and colleagues
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice
• Must have a professional demeanor
