POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Development Director will embrace the mission, culture and values of the organization, and work collaboratively with the Development team on all facets of fundraising for the Association. Specifically, this position will be responsible for spreading the mission of the South Shore Y to current and prospective donors and helping to increase financial support with a focus on donors at our Emilson Branch area and working with resident camp.
  • We are seeking a candidate with fundraising, sales, or marketing experience and willing to learn and grow. Prefer at least 2 years experience working at a YMCA in a leadership role that supervised staff.

CORE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Work collaboratively with volunteers, Y staff,and the Association Development team to cultivate and solicit donors for our annual fundraising campaigns.
  • Manage a donor portfolio including individualand corporate relationships.
  • Build and cultivate a donor base from our Membership and Resident campers, families and staff.
  • Useknowledge of fundraising, business development, sales, marketing, digital promotions and communications to develop successful mission campaigns that drive unrestricted revenue and brand awareness
  • Maintainaccurate records in our database, SGA, of prospect research, engagement and solicitation of each donor
  • Assists in YMCA fund raising activities/events, and engages in collaborative relationships with community organizations in order to strengthen support and build community.

Qualifications


  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred. 

  • 1 years of experience in fundraising, sales, or marketing preferred. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to establish professional rapport with staff, volunteers and prospective donors 

  • Self-motivated, energetic and creative thinker with strong ability to prioritize, execute a plan and meet goals 

  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and social media skills, with ability to gather, create, and promote inspirational content. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft office systems and data-base management. 

  • Strong attention to detail, high level of personal and professional organizational skill 

  • High level of integrity, a strong work ethic, confidence and a sense of humor 

  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed for events, travel to branches and be flexible in environments 

  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence in a fast-paced, dynamic, growing fundraising environment
