SSOE is looking to hire a Project Controller to join our team to ensure that engineering projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate and control project activities. This position will require you to work onsite and be located within the Hillsboro, OR office location. 

Responsibilities

  • Meet with project team members to gather cost and scheduling information to populate our custom databases and spreadsheets for creating and maintaining of project costs, schedules, procurement reports, and identifying critical path activities and milestones.
  • Track resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment, to support project requirements and ensure budgetary compliance.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenses, identifying cost variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Create and support routine and project specific reports that accurately reflect the cost and/or schedule status for projects, which may include design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and technical documents.
  • May attend internal project meetings to report cost, schedule, and resource status and to gather status on logged requirements.
  • Act as a point of contact for project-related inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Full understanding of accounting principles and experience with accounting functions regarding project billing, job cost accounting procedures, reconcilliations, and reporting.
  • Proven experience in the use of Microsoft Excel (use of formulas, pivot tables, vlookups, and other moderately difficult Excel functions).
  • Experience with supporting various projects to include coordinating and executing project issues, cost controls, change management in Scheduling, Estimating, Cost Control, and other project controls-related activities.
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks, working efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions.
  • Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
