Squid Lips’ Food Runners responsibilities include setting tables, serving food orders and removing used dishes and utensils. The ideal Food Runner will recognize the importance of serving the guests’ food in a timely, accurate and courteous manner. This role is key to ensuring that daily operations run smoothly, working well as a team in providing an excellent Guest experience at Squid Lips.

Responsibilities:

Greet all Guests with friendliness & warmth.

Deliver food orders from the kitchen to Guests’ tables efficiently and accurately.

Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature).

Assist Bussers & Servers with table setting by retrieving and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins.

Remove dirty dishes and utensils; replenish, as needed.

Check in with customers and take additional orders or refill water, as needed.

Be able to answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items.

Maintain health and safety regulations at all kitchen and dining areas

Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check).

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Busser, Food Runner or entry-level restaurant role is a plus.

Ability to multitask, remaining calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

Professional appearance, positive attitude.

Work well in a team environment.

Dependable, reliable means of transportation.

Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends, holidays.

Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules.

Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours.

Ability to work on your feet for 8 or more hours a day.
