SUMMARY: As the lead caseworker, strives to maintain the safety of children and the unity of families in the Squaxin Island Tribal community, manages the ICW Program and related files within or exceeding tribal, grant and WAC requirements. Provides community education and information through direct services, community activities and media. Works in collaboration with other human services providers as part of a wellness team to ensure client and community needs are met. This position will provide supervision and mentoring to the ICW Team in accordance with the Tribes Core Values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Applicant must have computer proficiency with a minimum of three years of experience using Microsoft Office is required. One year of experience working with Native American communities is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: CPR/First Aid; Washington State Driver’s License; proof of insurance.

OTHER CONDITIONS: The successful candidate must be on-call 24 hours a day 7 days a week and pass a background check. A negative TB test required.
As per employee handbook, no person shall hold a case load that requires direct case management of supervision of an immediate family member.
DRUG FREE WORKPLACE: The successful candidate will be required to have a urinalysis for drug and alcohol screening in accordance with the Tribe’s Drug Free Workplace Policy.
INDIAN PREFERENCE: Indian Preference will be exercised in the hiring of this position in accordance with the Tribe’s Personnel Policies.

Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Master’s Degree in Social Service field and Child Welfare casework experience and 2 years Child Welfare casework experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree in Social Service field and 4 years Child Welfare casework experience. Bachelor’s Degree level staff must consult with a staff member within the organization with a Masters degree in Social Services or closely related field for one hour for every 20 hours of case management the employee works.
