Your Mission – As our Director of Marketing you will continue to grow and further develop our marketing engine as we go through our next phase of growth and build a high performing outbound GTM engine. Reporting into the COO and a member of the leadership team, the Director of Marketing will partner with sales, product, and operations teams to build a qualified sales pipeline and brand awareness while clearly communicating the company's value proposition to current clients and prospects. This individual will be expected to influence all aspects of the organization, both internal and external, and will drive the development of short term and long term growth strategies to drive revenue and profitability.

The ideal candidate will be an exceptional leader who attracts, develops and retains industry-leading talent. S/he will have a proven track record of bringing new products/packaging to market, hitting revenue-focused KPIs, and establishing best practices to enable a high-performing, metrics-driven marketing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Operational Excellence
    • Utilize marketing automation tools and technologies to optimize marketing processes, track and analyze marketing performance metrics, and provide data-driven insights to improve marketing effectiveness and ROI.
    • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to drive awareness, adoption, and revenue growth for Sprocket's technology.
    • Work closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to align marketing efforts with business objectives and drive cross-functional collaboration.
    • Monitor and analyze key metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives, and use insights to optimize performance and drive continuous improvement.
    • Stay informed about market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Cultivate a High-Performance Environment
    • Develop and implement marketing programs and campaigns across various channels, including digital marketing, SEO, content marketing, social media, email marketing, events, and other relevant platforms, to drive brand awareness, generate qualified leads, and support the sales funnel and customer retention.
    • Collaborate closely with the product team to understand the technology and its applications, and translate technical features into compelling benefits for the target audience.
    • Drive demand generation initiatives, including content marketing, events, and partnerships to generate leads and drive customer acquisition.
    • Lead a team that creates industry leading targeted marketing campaigns.
    • Develop and manage relationships with external partners, agencies, and vendors as warranted to support marketing initiatives and maximize the impact of marketing efforts.
  • Accelerate Growth
    • Manage product messaging, ABM, lead generation, customer acquisition and retention.
    • Redefine and manage our brand strategy, core messaging and supporting materials and programs that lead to category creation.
    • Lead product marketing strategy & implementation for the activation of new products and product extensions.
    • Market new and existing strategic product enhancements, maintaining senior level relationships and driving specific initiatives.
    • Develop strategic marketing plans and roadmap for all marketing initiatives, programs and tests.
    • Implement innovative lead generation programs that drive profitability and increase market share.
    • Manage and coordinate all marketing, advertising and communications.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • 5 years of experience in marketing roles, including experience leading demand generation or product marketing for an organization.
  • Experience leading marketing for technical audiences.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive user acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex technologies and communicate their value proposition effectively.
  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and insights to make informed decisions and drive results.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working independently and taking initiative in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bachelor's degree; preferred in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred:

  • Marketing leadership experience within Penetration Testing or Offensive Security.
  • Experience working in a Cyber Security start-up environment.
