Position is responsible for assisting in all aspects of running the Springfield Tech Community College Fitness Center.

Reports to: Coordinator of Athletics & Fitness.

RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):

• Have a working knowledge of the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the STCC Fitness Center. Assist Fitness Coordinator with day-to-day operations
• Assist patrons with the use of Fitness Center equipment. Be knowledgeable with basic fitness training techniques. Assist Fitness Coordinator with fitness planning for patrons.
• Maintain Fitness Center facility and equipment cleanliness and organization. Direct patrons to comply with Fitness Center rules and regulations.
• Model professional behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards all Fitness Center users and other staff members. Maintain profession schedule.
• Distribute and collect Fitness Center equipment and supplies to patrons. Maintain order and security of equipment storage.
• Be responsible for statistical collection during games. Assist Head Coach with NJCAA administrative responsibilities (statistical entry, seasonal awards, etc).
• Perform customer service duties, be professional and courteous in interaction with patrons and fellow workers.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Fitness Coordinator, Athletic Director or appropriate administrator.

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Fitness Certification recommended

WORKING CONDITIIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; hear and understand speech at normal levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height; and to bend, to stoop, to sit on the floor, to climb stairs, to walk and to reach overhead. Duties are normally performed in a school environment or outdoors. Duties may be performed on field trips away from college. The noise level can be moderate to loud at times.
