ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
FIVE POINTS ELEMENTARY SUMMARY: Under administrative supervision, supervises pupil personnel, lunchroom, buses, and student activities. Reports to building principal.
DUTIES/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Supervises pupil personnel (e.g. discipline, detention, parent-teacher conferences, assemblies, and lunchroom.
2. Determines appropriate discipline for offenders following the student discipline code.
3. School representative in IEP meetings
4. Administers and supervises school attendance and works with attendance officer and clerical aide (e.g. prepares reports and records; issues absence permits, tardy permits and permits to leave school, etc.).
5. Administers and supervises student activities; assists in the development of student/parent/staff publications; assists with formal and informal evaluations of building staff; and assists with the development and maintenance of a building calendar.
6. Attends building and district meetings as requested.
7. Supervises extra-curricular, and co-curricular activities.
8. Fulfills the job description duties of the Building Principal in his/her absence.
9. Assists with care of building.
10. Serves as liaison between school and community agencies (e.g. Juvenile Court, Children’s Services, etc.). Works in cooperative effort which includes all community groups.
11. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
12. Develops positive programs for staff and students.
13. Performs other duties as described in job description and as assigned by supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Master’s Degree.
- Valid Ohio Elementary Principal’s Certificate/License
- Three (3) years of successful elementary teaching experience preferred
- Successful administrative or supervisory experience preferred
- Must pass criminal background check
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: - Effective Date: 2024/2025 School Year – August 1, 2024
- Two hundred (200) day annual contract
