Discovery Senior Living is looking for a Memory Care Director to join the team at Spring Mill

About the Opportunity

The Memory Care Director at Spring Mill Senior Living is responsible for guiding the team in our 16 apartment memory care neighborhood in their efforts to help each resident live their best life. The ideal candidate is experienced in senior living and loves the physical care side as much as they love the social emotional side of helping others. Utilizing the tenets of the SHINE memory care program, the right candidate is compassionate, creative, and dedicated to teaching and mentoring staff in creating amazing places to live and work. This position is truly universal and right for the person who loves variety and creativity.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, organizes, develops and leads the overall operation in the memory care unit in accordance with federal, state and local laws
  • Understands the principles of parallel programming and creates an engagement program that supports residents 24/7. Designs, schedules and facilitates the memory care unit program incorporating Life Skills and a variety of dementia appropriate activities; establishes a cooperative relationship with the local Alzheimer’s Association chapter or other Alzheimer’s advisory organization
  • Ensures monthly family support group meetings are planned and facilitated; supervises the team in the memory care unit.

Requirements:

  • One 2 years management in dementia care required.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to delegate assignments.
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule.
