Spring Health is Hiring a Remote Senior Software Engineer I (Back End)

This Software Developer will fully own operationalizing our Provider Payment functionality, ensuring all of Spring Health’s providers are paid correctly and on time. This Software Developer will work closely with billing specialists to ensure engineering effort is not involved in paying providers.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Shadow current engineer to gain context on operational challenges with current implementation.
  • Develop full stack features that will replicate operational requests through internal admin functionality.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to document how these tools can be used without engineering intervention to pay providers.
  • Help develop new backend functionality on paying providers in a group practice.
  • Integrate this feature with provider operations tools and support usage.
  • Maintain ownership of the provider pay tool while continuing on other initiatives.

What success looks like in this role:

  • Provider Pay success - 100% of appointments attested to with signed notes are paid to providers every month.
  • Manual engineering requests - reduce the hours / frequency of manual db edits by engineering
  • Invoices editing - billing specialists should be able to edit all invoices as necessary
  • Code Quality & Delivery - Align with unit tests, code patterns, and current data model constraints while releasing code.
  • Enforce Code Quality - do thoughtful reviews that check both logical changes as well as variable naming, comment quality, and unnecessary intermediate state. 

What we expect from you: 

  • Experience with backend development in a variety of roles/industriesFamiliarity with financial or healthcare compliance 
  • Ability and previous experience working in a remote first engineering setting
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies - scrum, kanban, bonus for BDD and XP (virtual pairing).
  • TDD approach and pair programming strategies are a plus.
  • Familiar with architecture of backend systems in web stack and knowledge of database basics.

The target base salary range for this position is $159,100 - $194,150, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
